Modern home on a natural slope
This modern home is carefully designed to sit comfortably within its elevated site, taking full advantage of the expansive views across the surrounding countryside. The building steps with the natural slope, creating a split-level plan that enhances the sense of space and connection to the outdoors. Large south-facing windows and glazed gables bring natural light deep into the home, while also opening out onto generous terraces that are sheltered and private.
The use of white render and dark brickwork grounds the building and gives it a contemporary yet timeless feel. The main living spaces are housed within vaulted roof forms, adding drama and scale while maintaining a simple, rural aesthetic. A lower ground floor level provides additional accommodation with direct garden access. Carefully considered solar orientation and integrated passive design measures ensure the home performs efficiently throughout the year, capturing solar gain in winter while avoiding overheating in summer. The result is a striking yet practical family home that makes the most of its setting.
