How it works (5 simple steps)
1. Book your Layout Review
Send us your enquiry and we’ll arrange a short briefing call to understand your goals, priorities and how you use the house. We’ll also confirm what to upload so we can prepare properly.
What we need:
Accurate floor plans are essential — either professionally drawn plans or clear, dimensioned sketches prepared by you. A few site and interior photos are very helpful.
2. Site & Layout Assessment
We review your layout in context: orientation and sun, key views and privacy, connection to garden, circulation, room proportions and furniture potential. We identify constraints and—more importantly—opportunities.
3. Design Session
In a collaborative online session, we present initial ideas and alternative arrangements. We’ll explain how each option improves flow, light and connection, and we’ll agree the direction that best fits your brief and budget.
4. Refine & Improve
We incorporate your feedback and develop the preferred option into a clear, build-sensible plan. You’ll receive revised drawings with concise annotations explaining the rationale behind every move.
5. Final Layout Pack
Your Layout Review Pack includes:
- Revised floor plan(s) with key recommendations
- Annotated notes highlighting improvements to light, flow and function
- Optional 3D visuals / perspective sketches (add-on). Use this pack with your local architect/technician or as the basis for further work with RSDS.

Do I need to visit your office?
No. Reviews are typically completed online using video calls and shared drawings. If you prefer an in-person meeting, we can arrange that separately.
Can you work from plans prepared by another architect/technician?
Yes. Many clients come to us with existing designs and want a fresh, independent review. We’ll suggest practical revisions to enhance light, flow and functionality.
What will I receive at the end?
A Layout Review Pack containing revised/annotated layout drawings and clear recommendations. Optional 3D visuals or sketches can be added if requested.
How long does the process take?
Most initial reviews are completed within 1–2 weeks of receiving your information. We’ll confirm a timeline at the outset.
